Greece Blames the Messenger by Fredrik-Rattzen Greece Blames the Messenger by Fredrik-Rattzen
Another one for my portfolio class in school. This was based on an article about a Greek journalist who published a list containing the names of some rather important people with funds hidden in Swiss bank accounts. Instead of investigating the list, the government arrested the journalist who is now facing charges. I decided to give my take on “shooting the messenger” by using a falling carrier pigeon.

This is beautiful, not only because of your amazing painting style with the balance between the soft textures and the sharp shapes, but also because of the story it tells. I love how you interpreted the story....absolutely amazing!

This is amazing.... I just literally have no words to describe this. The impression of depth is amazing, and the textures make it look like an oil painting. Just all around wow! I would love a print of this hanging on my wall!

Your picture is breathtaking. It reminds me the work of James Jean or Joao Ruas.

Well, that's so sad. It seems goverments are the same in the whole world.

The work is marvellous, you really get the idea very clear with it.

This turned out absolutely gorgeous; the subtle addition of the iridescence to the neck really helps it read. Well done!

Amazing work once again. I always love the soft painterly feel you give your paintings by adding the soft smudge. Do you use brushes for this or a texture?

Thanks! It's a bit of both, part of it is done in watercolor and acrylics, and part of it is some digital painting. I do always start out with a very tight drawing, and make sure I have the basic shapes defined. I then go on top of it with watercolors. After that, its mostly acrylics. It all ends up in photoshop, where I spend time a bit of time tweaking things and making them more graphic where needed. Hope that helps. : )

Ahh so most part of it is traditional? Thought it was all digital. Very helpful, thanks :)
